Seasonal Simplicity: Spinach and Fig Salad with a Taste of Fall

As summer slowly comes to an end (unless you’re in California and experiencing the delightful heat wave, which I personally enjoy!) and the cool breeze of fall begins to settle in, our cravings naturally shift to the comforting, earthy flavors of the season. Figs, with their sweet, honey-like flavor, become a perfect match for fall’s bounty, especially when paired with fresh spinach and other wholesome ingredients. This fig and spinach salad is the ideal way to welcome the cooler months—light enough to savor on a warm afternoon, yet hearty with the textures of seasonal produce. Whether you're enjoying the first hints of autumn or preparing for cozy gatherings, this salad brings together the best of fall in a delicious and nutritious dish.

YOU NEED:

4 cups Fresh Baby Spinach

8-10 Medium Figs

Vegan Feta (I use Violife Just like Feta) as desired and it’s also optional

1 Teaspoon Hulled Hemp seed

1/ 2 - 1  Freshly squeezed lemon

1 Tablespoon Olive oil

Salt & black pepper to taste

YOU DO:

1- Drop your baby spinach in a salad bowl

2- Chop your figs in half or in 4 pieces, make sure you cut off the little tail and add it to the salad bowl

3- If you’re using the feta cheese, cut as much as you want to add, my suggestion is go moderate :). Then using your hands crumble the feta over the spinach and figs.

4- Add the hulled hemp seed, lemon, olive oil and salt & pepper

5- Mix well and bon appétit!

Remember, spinach is a superfood, It’s loaded with tons of nutrients in a low-calorie package. Dark, leafy greens like spinach are important for skin, hair, and bone health. They also provide protein, iron, vitamins, and minerals.
Now when it comes to figs, one of the main attractions , apart from the sweet taste, is the presence of Copper. Copper is a vital mineral that’s involved in several bodily processes, including metabolism and energy production, as well as the formation of blood cells, connective tissues, and neurotransmitters.

Figs have also long been used as a home remedy or an alternative treatment for digestive problems like constipation

Now go make this yummy salad and once nourished, come back here and tell me what you think!
